WASTELANDER
About
When the Tribunal chose to sell Citizen Jeremiah Beltz as a slave to the primitive Wastelanders they knew they were sending the incorrigible to a certain death. No banished Citizen had ever survived the unrelenting sun, the harsh winds, the hordes of roving bandits, or the wolves the size of horses that prowled the Wasteland. Such was the price for not following the strict guidelines that defined life inside the City’s walls.
No question, Beltz would be dead in a few months. But so what? He didn’t toe the line, always questioning orders, belligerent when confronted, always thought he knew better than his superiors. Selling him into slavery would save the city the trouble of executing him and dumping his body into the compost grinder. So the Tribunes opted to trade the rebellious Beltz to the Wastelanders for a prime beef. A win-win if there ever was one.
The Wastelanders, a matriarchal society, fought the elements, bandit tribes, and a genetic flaw that threatened extinction. Could Beltz learn to reign in his rebellious nature, adapt the ways of the Wastelanders, swear to defend the elderly Matriarch and the all female ruling council despite enemies both inside and outside the tribe? Or would he merely fulfill the expectations of the Tribunes who sold him into slavery and become just one more skeleton littering the Wasteland?
